Like all countries, there will be a deposit taken for the property, which is designed to cover any damages or final bills when you leave. The remainder is refunded to you by the landlord.

Rental is always paid in advance. It is normal for three months rent to be paid in advance, but indivual properties may have special arrangements. (e.g.: Discounted rent for a years rent in advance.)

Water and Electricity are metered in Thailand, and paid monthly. You may be asked to pay the utility company direct our through the landlord. Condo buildings are usually though the Management Office, who may add a service charge. We will advice which method for the property we show you. Condo buildings often ban the use of gas for safety reasons and so cooking is done with electric. But who wants to cook when restaurants and Thai food take-aways are so cheap anyway?

Telephones. The call charges are billed seperately for Inland on a monthy basis, and International, which are billed every TWO weeks. The line rental is part of the Inland bill. International calling is an additional service, but most places have that option.

There are 2 cable TV suppliers, depending on where the property is located, and UBC a satallite TV system. These have the normal Thai Channels, plus English, French, German and Italian + Chinese, Indian and Japanese programmes. UBC screens HBO films and Cinemax.
